Are you exhausted by constant power struggles, intense meltdowns, or defiance? If traditional parenting advice like behavior charts, timeouts, and logic have stopped working or are making things worse, please know this: it is not your fault.

Children who have experienced attachment disruptions, chronic early stress, adverse childhoods, or developmental trauma require a different path to healing.

I provide structured, curriculum-based parent consultation utilizing the groundbreaking Beyond Consequences model (developed by Heather T. Forbes, LCSW). Together, we will move past trying to "control" behaviors and focus instead on calming your child's nervous system and repairing your connection. 

Our consultation sessions are highly structured and active. We use the Beyond Consequences, Logic, and Control framework to tackle your family’s unique challenges:

• The Science of Fear: Learning to read your child’s physical signs of nervous system deregulation before a blowout happens.
• Regulating the Regulator: Giving you concrete somatic tools to stay calm and grounded when your child escalates.
• Implementing "Time-Ins": Replacing isolating punishments with connection driven de-escalation techniques.
• Decoding Covert Behaviors: Uncovering and soothing the core fears driving survival behaviors like lying, stealing, or food hoarding.

• Format: Individualized 1-on-1 intensive consultation sessions for parents (available via Secure Telehealth).
• Structure: A collaborative 6-session curriculum framework mapped directly to the Beyond Consequences foundational text.
• Your Investment: $100 per session. Please note: Each participating household is required to purchase a copy of "Beyond Consequences, Logic, and Control (Volume 1)" prior to our first session. This is a psychoeducational consulting service and is not covered by insurance like traditional talk therapy.

This specialized consulting framework is designed specifically for:

• Foster, adoptive, and kinship parents navigating attachment challenges.
• Parents of children with neurodivergent profiles or sensory processing differences experiencing intense fight-or-flight behaviors.
• Any parent feeling burned out, stuck, or ready to transition from punishment based parenting to a love and safety based model.

In my 12+ years in the field of social work, I bring over five years of specialized experience working directly with older youth in foster care, conducting comprehensive home studies, and providing vital pre- and post-adoption support to families. My clinical background spans specialized therapeutic schools for children with emotional, behavioral, and neurodivergent needs. I currently provide individual therapy to at-risk adolescents using trauma based approaches like Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I am a provider for Foster Adopt Minnesota's HELP Program which allows me to offer tailored therapeutic support to adoptees and adoptive and foster families. I was fortunate enough to complete the Beyond Consequences training under Brenda Benning, MSW, LICSW, a direct trainee of the model's founder, Heather Forbes. This unique blend of systemic experience and formal trauma training has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to help guide parents from behavioral control to deep, lasting emotional connection.
